Battenburg Lace was developed in the late 1800s and named after Queen Victoria’s son-in-law, The lace gained popularity due to a distinctive method of combining machine-woven tapes with hand stitching.
We design this beautiful cushion cover with tape shapes resembling leaves. Intricate stitches are handmade to hold the tapes together using mesh, netting or webs. In the centre of each cushion cover, a hand crafted Battenburg Lace Celtic Cross on a mesh ground work gives the winter white a centre of interest. A hint of Blue Forget-Me-Nots arranged in a counter clockwise spray of flowers. The placement presents an interesting design.
It is All in the Details, the edging demonstrates the skill with a variation of lace work. One can easily discern expertise of handmade details from the corner flowers.
This cushion cover is ideal for a Blue-And-White decor theme.
