Battenburg lace is a creative craft using a tape lace as foundation. Loops of woven tape are formed during its creation. The spaces created by these even-width loops are then joined at the edges. Gaps are filled with hand stitched decorative stitches or brides.
Handmade Battenburg Lace is unique and distinctive. Tape lace is carefully selected for each particular product. Within this tiny square of 4″x4″, our Battenburg Lace coaster features 8-petals and a well designed collection of hand crafted brides and bars and spider webs. A Lace Ring in the centre of the flower. It is All in the Details, the coaster is then trimmed with a lace border of handmade brides and bars. A close up view.
